NEXT WEEKS PROGRAMMING; Good morning team I hope you guys are all well and enjoying the weekend. I can confirm that on Saturday 19th November, to celebrate the 11th anniversary of CrossFit GB we will be doing an in-house Throwdown (mini comp) which will be for all abilities and will consist of two workouts followed by a final workout for the top 5 teams. It will be a same sex pairs event and whether you have been at the gym for 6 weeks or 6 years you will be able to get involved. Guys, we are holding the Xmas party on Saturday 17th December and will be at Cosy Club on Corns Street (details nearer the time). Good morning team, a quick update on the Sunday Sweat class. I have now opened this up to non members who can book on so if you know anybody that may like to join you for this session then they can book on via teamup. The sessions are every Sunday at 0815 and last 45 minutes. They are low skill circuit based sessions and a great way to burn off a few extra calories so if you're not already I highly recommend getting involved. Good morning team, I hope you guys are all enjoying the weekend. As always I have a great week of workouts planned for you all so try and make it in as often as you can. Just a quick reminder that Sunday's we do our Sweat sessions at 0815. It is a 45 minute class which focusses on just conditioning, nothing technical, nothing heavy just basic bodyweight / kettlebell movements combined with running, skipping, rowing etc. It's a great way to burn off a few calories without taxing the body too much for the week ahead. Guys next Sunday at 10am Raquel will be doing a seminar for Womans Health aimed at training and nutrition around the menstrual cycle. This is a very interesting topic and something that can sometimes get overlooked so I am very much looking forward to finding out more about this. Am very much looking forward to starting our 12 week strength cycle. The first phase of this we will be working to a specified tempo and working off percentages of your 1rms. We are going to be focussing on 3 key exercises, Squat, Bench and Deadlift. I highly recommend using boxmate (if you're not already doing so) so record all your weights and scores so you are able to monitor your progress and also it will work out all your percentages for you. Good morning team, I hope you are all enjoying this lovely weekend? With it being a bank holiday we will just be doing the one class tomorrow, I am very excited as I do thoroughly enjoy a bank holiday blowout. This will act as our LongWod as we are going to be doing some testing throughout the week ready for the start of our 12 week strength cycle....exciting times.
